No orcas present.

It is a lovely rainy evening at the lab. No sign of orcas yet. We saw three humpback whales swimming together. We were able to identify Freckles and Hunter. The third whale had a black fluke which makes it difficult to ID her/him. Later the 4th Humpback whale, Squiggle, joined them.

No orcas present.

We have not had any updates on the orcas since yesterday at 7:17 PM when an unknown group was spotted near Alert Bay headed west. Today our attention is focused on collecting rain water, and tracking the three humpbacks currently in Blackney Pass. One of them is Ridge, and we are working on ID-ing the others.

No orcas present.

It's a quiet, foggy morning here at the lab - the perfect time for some technical maintenance! The live stream will be down for a brief period as we resolve some audio issues. We will let you know when this is complete.
