No orcas present.

Looks like the Mackays saw the I15s in Queen Charlotte Strait today! Thanks for sharing the sighting, very exciting!

Just in from Bill and Donna Mackay: at least 18 orcas heading west between Fosters and Malcolm Island. They have some pictures which they will look at when they get home. Beautiful day! A bumble bee came out too!

No orcas present.

We did not hear any more A5 calls during the night. Fingers crossed for some clues as to where they went after 9pm.

So where did they go? They were there - off the entrance to Blackney Pass - and then they went quiet before 9pm. The day is not finished and tomorrow is another day!

Correction. It sounds like the orcas are in Johnstone Strait off the entrance to Blackney Pass. We're hearing them on the Parson Island hydrophone as well as on Critical Point. The recording was started at 8:10pm.

A thrill for the Port McNeill folk! 8 orcas came west, entered Port McNeill habour and then turned back to the east around Noon. Thanks jackie, Donna and Bill.

Yvonne Maximchuk reports that the A42s (aka A8s) are still around! Today, heading west in Cramer Pass at 1;20pm.

All "quiet" since Marie's busy otter, northern resident, Bigg's filled day. The weather has since turned chilly. The trees are covered in snow after the snow storm and the wind is still blowing. But it is all beautiful in winter's grip.

The Biggs kept vocalizing until around 22:15 last night. They became more distant on CP and critical point as they slowly moved west in Johnstone Strait all night. Around that same time Wendy & Bill could hear orca going west by Pearse island!

The residents (possibly I31s?) have gone quiet now. Helena & Paul could see them in Johnstone Strait westing, favouring the Hanson shore and now it looks like they went north in Weynton Pass.

There are more distant Gclan calls!! They are on Critical Point so I'm guessing they went south in Weynton with the max. flood.

I heard a few Gclan pings just before 16:00. I'm unsure of the whereabouts but great to know they are out there!!
