No orcas present. We just got a report from Bill and Donna Mackay that about a dozen orcas, two large males, were seen milling in Christie Pass. Perhaps these might be the A34s and A36s who we heard earlier in Johnstone Strait! Helena 10 Nov 2013 11:18:14 PST

No orcas present. It is quiet now. The calls were never close but Bec and Mark think they were on the CP system which would put them in Johnstone Strait. Definitely A1 calls. No calls but orcas nearby Today, Jim and Mary Borrowman watched a group of Biggs whales come south from Weynton Pass. The group paused and changed direction a few times before heading a bit further into Johnston Strait favouring the Hanson Island side. Then just as we thought we heard some distant A1 calls on the rubbing beach system (a surprise) the Biggs turned and headed back out Weynton Pass (1:55pm) where they were joined by more. The group of now 12 Biggs went west into Cormaorant Channel and travelled impressively fast toward Haddington Island. Thanks to Jim for going out in the Gikumi to ID the whales.
