Distant calls audible.

There were a few Biggs calls at 7am. I wasn't able to figure out which hydrophone so hopefully they become vocal again! Also there were some very chatty dolphins in the Bight last night!

Orcas near mics.

Once again the dolphins are not too far from Robson Bight. We can hear their echo location and splashes. They were vocal briefly a few times through the raining but calm day.

Orcas near mics.

We are hearing dolphins in Johnstone Strait, getting louder on Critical Point. Sounds like a good sized group. We also heard them after midnight briefly.

No orcas present.

We have a whale story for the day! Dave Towers was out today and he and Maureen saw 3 humpbacks drifting in front of Cracroft Point. Later, when they were in Blackfish Sound they saw the whales come through from Johnstone Strait on the ebbing tide. One of the whlaes was closer to Hanson Island and we saw it head north at 11am. It feels like they are definitely back for the season!
