No calls but orcas nearby

The orcas came into Robson Bight and turned to the west around 4:50pm. At 5:21pm, Megan at Cracroft Point reported that they were between Izumi and Kaikash, Vancouver Island side. They kept going to the west in the strait and headed into Weynton Passage around 7pm. The last calls we heard were at 6:43pm. The calls were from the A5s.

Orcas near mics.

We listened to orcas on the Flower Island hydrophone as they spent some time in Blackfish Sound. Around 2:00pm they began to make their way towards the Lab. The A5's lead the way followed by the A30s, I15s and I35s. We were treated to a wonderful display of breaches, pec slapping and tail slapping as they passed close to the Lab. The orcas continued through Blackney Passage and past CP, and are now slowly making their way towards Robson Bight. Distant calls audible.

After spending several hours in Robson Bight the A5s and the A30s began to head west. We started to hear their calls on the Cracroft Point hydrophone around 3:30am. The I15s and possibly I31s followed shortly after. All groups took Blackney Passage as they passed the Lab on their way towards Blackfish Sound. The A5s and A30s lead the way and we are now hearing calls on the Flower Island hydrophone!
