Distant calls audible.

We've heard a couple of faint calls on Critical Point. Hard to tell who but we're guessing Biggs.

No orcas present.

Good news, CetaceaLab reported hearing Northern Residents, possibly A12s, in their area. The orcas seem to show up around this time on the north coast. Also, a humpback has been sighted in Knight Inlet, thanks to Scott and Yvonne for keeping track.

No calls but orcas nearby

The orcas just went out of sight and were moving North with the current. No calls yet!

No calls but orcas nearby

We've still got Biggs in front of the lab! They seem to be working against one fierce tide because they're facing South but moving North!

Distant calls audible.

The Biggs are back on Flower Island. Mid Range right now but they're pretty chatty.

We're hearing some very faint Bigg's on Flower Island. Hopefully they'll get a bit louder while they're around!

No orcas present.

Hi everybody! Hurricane force winds sent trees crashing to the ground in Alert Bay last Saturday and are internet has been out ever since. We're happy to say we're back and business and audio should be streaming again! We got a brief glimpse of some Biggs Saturday night (the 14th) by the Sea Lions and a couple of breaches before they rounded the corner into Blackney Entrance. They must have caught something because they spent the next four hours calling on the Parson Island hydrophone.

No orcas present.

A very peaceful and quiet stretch for us at the lab. The orcas have been quiet but we are very excited to welcome members of Greenpeace who will be visiting Orca Lab and Earth Embassy tomorrow!
