Performing maintenance

Sorry everyone, we have a huge buzz on the system, so what you're listening to is quite unpleasant! We will try to solve the problem and bring you only beautiful orca voices soon!

Distant calls audible.

The A30s, A23/25s, I35s and I15s passed Blackney Pass to north. They have gone out of our view at 6:27pm. They are still vocal in Blackfish Sound.

Orcas (may be) approaching cameras.

The orcas made their way west this morning. Then shortly after 2:00pm they made a turn back to the East. They are now slowly approaching Cracroft Point. http://explore.org/live-cams/player/orcalab-cracroft-point-surface

Multiple pod calls audible.

It seems as if all the groups who went east yesterday evening past the Ecological Reserve have returned. We first heard A5 calls and began to follow individuals along the shoreline of the Estuary. More groups, the I15s, A30s and I31s(I35s) were soon present as well. They are making their way steadily, sometimes foraging, westward. There are a lot of fish jumping as well.

Orcas hunting fish.

We're following orcas in Robson Bight - watch here: http://explore.org/live-cams/player/orcalab-robson-bight. They are echolocating and seem to be foraging!

No orcas present.

Seems like the orcas continued east from Robson Bight. The last calls we heard were at 11:08pm.
