No orcas present.
Still no sign of the Residents today, but further reports confirm at least 5 individuals in the group of Bigg's seen earlier, and T090s and T002B were identified. They were seen in Queen Charlotte Strait around 6pm, and later heading west past Alert Bay at around 7.15pm. We also heard some humpback vocalizations just now on the hydrophones, but only fleetingly!

No orcas present.
At 11:18am, we caught the Biggs orcas (3 individuals) on Cracroft Point camera. They were close to Hanson Island shoreline, heading towards Blackney Pass. At 11:30am, Charlie found them off Gab's Rock which is south of Blackney Pass. Meanwhile we had a report of a Northern fir seal in Blackney Pass at 11:58am. We could see her/him eating a salmon. Around noon, Megan at Cracroft Point saw the Biggs headed back to the Strait and went to the west. At 12:58am, The Biggs were seen at the entrance of Blackney Pass. Then we had a report that a group of orcas including a little guy headed west off Weynton Island between 1:30-2pm. We had at least two Humpback whales, Ridge and Argonaut as companions this afternoon. We could see them lunge feeding!

No calls but orcas nearby
Save for some humpback vocalizations and PWD chatter around midnight, last night was quiet in the lab. Today we have had reports of 2 Bigg's seen heading west at Double Bay shortly after 8am, and later off Stubbs Island around 9:10am. The latest report, around 10:40am, has them at Weynton Island headed east towards the Hanson Island shoreline.
