We just walked in the house after unloading the boat and there was one Bigg's call. Unfortunately, that is all we have heard so far and we were not able to locate the source. Nice all the same. Distant calls audible. Wow! At least 15+ Biggs orca went south in Blackney Pass!! They were quite vocal and very surface active! They are in Johnstone Strait now but have gone quiet for the moment... Spotted a humpback whale slowly travelling north in Blackney Pass at 8am!! S/he spent some time foraging around Whitebeach Pass. There are a few bait balls in Blackney this morning so perhaps s/he is getting something to eat.  Marie 24 Apr 2014 09:33:00 PDT

No orcas present. We just had a minke whale in Blackney Pass at 11:30am on this beautiful day, one day after the Court of Justice ruling. Jared Towers was able to identify the minke as "Eclipse" mentioning she is often likely to arrive first. Helena  01 Apr 2014 13:33:56 PDT
