The A30s, A42s and I15s have all headed east towards the Bight and can be heard on our Critical Point hydrophone. To top off this beautiful day we also had Ridge the humpback feed 15m in front of OrcaLab as the sun went down!

Very exciting evening here at OrcaLab! We have the A42s in front of Cracroft Point, and currently angling towards the entrance to Blackney Pass. Also, the 'Lukwa' reported that a mother and baby Grizzly bear have swum across from Cracroft Island and have joined us here on Hanson Island around 7:30pm. We've also had a trumpeting humpback in front of the lab. The A30s and the I15s are currently spread out between Cracroft Point and the reserve.

The A30s, A42s and I15s kept going to the west in Johnstone Strait. The A30s and some of the I15s passed close to the Critical Point hydrophone. The wardens saw the A42s and I4s headed west below the cliff at 1:22pm. Megan at Cracroft Point reported that the A42s and some of the I15s were crossing over to Blinkhorn at 3:15pm. Seems like all the whales turned to the east. Looks like they are approaching Kaikash Beach, Vancouver Island side.

After the whales came back to Robson Bight at 2:41am, they headed back to the east. At 11:27am we got a report that a group of orcas was travelling west approaching the east end of the Reserve. We found them on the Rubbing Beach camera at 11:37am. They were heading west, mid strait. We started picking up the A30 and I15 calls on the Critical Point hydrophone at 12:20pm.

With a humpback blowing close to the Lab and Orion laying across the sky to the south east the orcas are once again on the move. After midnight the groups (I15s, A30s and A42s) were moving east through the Ecological Reserve. At 2:15, the A30s were off the Main beach and then back to Robson Bight by 2:41am. The whales are continuing west.

The whales went west as far as the entrance of Blackney Pass. But they didn't come in. Sounds like they are back to the Bight. We are hearing the A30s, A42s and I15s on Critical Point hydrophone.
