No calls but orcas nearby
We believe that the A42 kept going to the west in the strait. Another beautiful sunset on CP camera!

Distant calls audible.
We heard the A42s about 15 mins ago. Sounded like they were off the entrance of Blackney Pass. They have been quiet now.

We forgot to mention about this morning. Dave Towers reported that the A42s were heading north in Blackney Pass at 8 am. Thanks for the report! Looks like the A42s are approaching Kaikash Creek. We can barely see their blows on CP surface camera. They are Vancouver Island side, heading west slowly. The last calls we heard from them were at 5:16pm on Critical Point hydrophone. They have been quiet now.

Orcas rubbing on the shore bottom.
We've just caught sight of the group approaching the Rubbing beach. Keep your eyes peeled on the underwater camera! We can also hear their calls on the newly-fixed hydrophone!

Those 42's were last seen heading east from Blinkhorn and have finally made some calls again, which we've picked up at Critical Point. They seem to still be easting

The Lukwa reports that it is with some whales in Weynton, heading towards Weynton Island. No report of who yet, and they're being sneaky quiet so we can't work it out either!

The fog has definitely rolled in here at OrcaLab. We've had no calls since 1:24am (which was the A42s who headed east from the Bight) but we've had a couple of friendly steller sea lions pop their heads up in front of the lab.

Sounds like the A42s have turned east earlier and now they are coming closer to the Bight.
