No orcas present.

After a quiet night events started to unfold quite early. At 7:54am there was a report of 5 orcas near Donegal Head headed toward Stubbs Island in Weynton Pass. This group turned out to be the T46s. Wayne on the Lukwa mentioned that they tried for a sea lion but were not successful. The stressed sea lion headed for the beach. The T46s carried on through Weynton Pass to Johnstone Strait where they headed eastward. At 11:15am Megan who was returning from Alert Bay found them off Big Bay. Momoko, who was at CP filling in for Megan, saw them closer to Vancouver Island between Little Kaikash Creek and Kaikash at 11:57. While they carried on eastward, Kim saw another group of Biggs travelling very fast in Blackney Pass. Jared Towers caught up with the trailing group, the T60s,T90s and T2B, and followed them into Baronet Passage. The lead group, the T19s with T18, headed into Johnstone Strait where Jared soon identified them as well. By 2:30pm the T19s with T18 were observed by Marie off Swaine Point. It was definitely a Bigg's orca day. We later heard that another group of Bigg's was headed west from Campbell River. Meanwhile, the A42s and A35s, who had gone east yesterday at 5:34pm from the eastern end of the Reserve, turned up in Frederick Arm at 9am. From there they went into Nodales Channel for the day. Later in the afternoon they came out of Nodales but thought better of it and went back in.

No calls but orcas nearby

We've had a report from the Lukwa and Marie at the Cliff that 5 Orca (potentially Bigg's) are heading east from Donegal Head. No calls, but we are on lookout here at OrcaLab! Will let you know when we have more information.
