We heard the last calls at 8:05pm on CP hydrophone. The calls were distant but clear. Sounded like they were west of CP. We are waiting for the next calls!

So not so simple a story it turns out. The Lukwa reported that they are pretty sure the A23s/A25s are there and not it is not clear if all the A5s are present.bWe do know a group with one male was first to arrive off Robson Bight. And at that time, the A23s/A25s were reported off the Eve River coming west. As you know the first group stalled and went back and forth between the Bight and Izumi Rock until 3:15pm when there was movement to the west. By the time they got to Kaikash the Lukwas was seeing the A23s/A25s. Not anything but interesting. The whales are continuing west to Little Kaiaksh.

We are hearing a few distant calls. Megan HB at CP reported the A42s passed Kaikash Creek, Vancouver Island shore line, heading west. Also at 1pm Bill on Naiad reported the A34s with A46 were at Pine Islands. They were still outbound.

Whales have turned back to the west. The lead group is approaching the eastern boundary of the Ecological Reserve and another is off the Eve River.

Well almost nearby. There is a report via Marie on the Cliff of a group of orcas tight to the Vancouver Island shore heading west at Pine Point. (between Naka Creek and the eastern boundary)

It took a while longer but the A5s made it back to Robson Bight by 4am. They moved past Critical Point and were heard off the east end of the Reserve by 4:40am. The last calls heard were at 5am.

We have been waiting to see if the A5s were going to make a move. The tide is still ebbing for a while longer and they have been west of Cracroft Point for a very long time.
