A quick summary of this busy day: After the Lukwa gave us a head's up that the A23s and A25s and A30s were coming towards us close to the Hanson Island shore we waited and were delighted to find out that the A42s were with them as well. Not long after their passing us by and carrying on toward Johnstone Strait we got word that the I15s and the G27s were off Bold Head. Dave Towers estimated the time we would see them and in they came on schedule! They were further over that the others had been but they too were all together. We tried to count them but there were a lot of whales and had to be content to identifying the different groups according to the position of the males, I76 and I77. This large group shifted to Johnstone Strait and travelled east still in a tight group with very little vocalizing until going into the rubbing beaches. The A42s preceded them to the Main beach which some went into Strider beach. This went on for some time with the whales shifting west and east. It should be mentioned that the A30s headed off in the opposite direction to the west at some point. Now Marie reports that the groups in front of her and the Bight have begun to move to the northwest.

Possibly the A42s and part of the I15s enjoyed rubbing at Rubbing beach. Others are still west of them.
