The A34's have gone quiet off of Flower Island, but we have reports of the A11's between Kaikash Creek and Blinkhorn Peninsula on the Hanson Island side. Everyone is very quiet!

Nice echo location off Critical Point/Robson Bight - a little forage?

Here is a catch up: The A11s (including Springer and baby) carried on to the west till they were almost up to Turn Point (western end of Hanson Island). They made a few calls and began to cross Johnstone Strait in the direction of Kaikash Creek. For a while they continued until just before the Western Boundary of the Reserve they turned yet again at 2:22pm. Still no calls as they rolled, rest and relaxed mid strait between Izumi Rock and Kaikash. An hour later they turned again still in a very relaxed mode and still without calls.

Still silent the A11s elected to go with tide and head west. The tide is about to turn so we will see what happens next.

The A11s with A73 and her little one passed by the Lab silently after travelling slowly through Blackfish Sound. They are on their way towards Cracroft Point now.

It seemed like the A11s were approaching the entrance to Blackney Pass coming from the east . meanwhile, Kate reported a group went past Bere Point around 5:30am. Possibly this was the A34s with A46 who we believe did not follow the A4s back into Johnstone Strait earlier this morning,

We are hearing very sporadic calls. It seems like the orcas entered Johnstone Strait via Weynton Pass. We started hearing them on Critical Point hydrophone at 1:59am.

The A1s and A4s were very vocal on reaching Blackfish Sound. Their calls eventually became very distant and just now a lot closer! Not going anywhere too quickly it seems, at least for the A1s.
