The whales (A30s, A4s and I15s) are off Rubbing beach. Sounded like the A42s have passed CRPT to the east but haven't came up to the beaches. The A23s /A25s were reported east of Blinkhorn little while ago.

We are hearing A5 calls (possibly A42s) on CRPT hydrophone. Sounds like they are near the Bight.

Earlier this afternoon the 115s came into Blackney Pass from Blackfish Sound, just as the A30s were headed North. They crossed paths in front of the lab, with the 30s on the far shore and the 15s milling around slowly for much of the time. Now, some orcas are headed back to the south - we're not sure who as of yet, no acoustic clues - the live streaming cam is following them through the pass: http://orcalab.click2stream.com/

One additional note: CP has the A23s and A25s off Big Bay headed west and Marie can see the A42s heading west from the Bight.

So interesting watching this scene unfold in Blackney Pass. The A30s came in from the south (Johnstone Strait) and matter of factly carried on north toward Blackfish Souns. At the same time the I15s closer to the Hanson Island side came in from the northwest (Blackfish Sound). The I15s got past the Lab and drifted out to the middle as the A30s passed on the far shore. The I15s stayed mostly on the surface pointing south of a very long time. Eventually two turned slowly north and after mosre hesitation the rest did likewise. A humpback decided to beach several times, tail lob and lunge feed (not in that order) not far from the orca scene. The I15s are now more decidedly following the A30s back out to Blackfish Sound. Both groups have only recently started to vocalize. Most of this was done silently. Meanwhile, we heard the A5s closer to Robson Bight still in Johnstone Strait.

Lukwa reported group of orcas (at least I15s) off Double Bay and heading to the east in Blackfish Sound. They are very quiet. Megan HB at CP reported the A30s were approaching Kaikash Creek, Vancouver Island side. Now they are angling towards CP.
