Distant calls audible.
The A30s passed Blackney Pass to the north. They cleared from our view around 8pm. They are Blackfish Sound now. Meanwhile we heard some humpback whale sound on Local Left hydrophone. Three humpback whales passed in front of Lab and headed south in Blackney. One of them were Identified as Conger.

We're picking up some A30 calls on Flower Island hydrophone. (The Lukwa reported seeing them earlier at Bold Head). Also, the I15/G27s are around the Bight - a few passed by the rubbing beach earlier this afternoon and they seem to all be heading east.

No calls but orcas nearby
At 10:19am we had a conversation with the Ecological Reserve Wardens on the Cliff and they reported that the A23s/25s were heading west below the Cliff. The I15s and G27s were mid strait also heading west and the A42s were closer to Robson Bight. They are now off the Western Boundary and the others are continuing towards CP. No current word on the A30s.

No calls but orcas nearby
It was an incredibly busy night! The orcas were moving around a lot: Starting with the A30s. The A30s had travelled through Blackney Pass to Blackfish Sound in the evening. They stayed in Blackfish Sound until 11:30pm and then proceeded to Johnstone Strait via Weynton Pass just before 2am. (0151). Meanwhile, as the A30s were going north through Blackney Pass, the A5 had moved west from the Robson Bight from 8:50pm. They turned east and were off the entrance to Blackney Pass just after midnight. They continued east slowly and by the time the A30s were entering Johnstone Strait from Weynton around 2am the A5s were back near Robson Bight. The A30s took their time moving east from the western end of the Strait. From 3 to 3:30 the A5s were moving east from the Bight. The I15s and G27s had been east of the Ecological Reserve earlier but came back toward the rubbing beaches around 2:30am. They probably turned ahead of the A5s coming from the Robson Bight area. Both the A5s and the I15s/G27s continued east. We last heard the trailing A5s at 4:24am. By 5:47am the A30s were themselves near Robson Bight. Not long after this they turned and came back up to the entrance of Blackney Pass. After some very excited vocal exchanges there they travelled north into Blackfish Sound. Meanwhile, the A5s/G27s and/I15s had formed a large resting group and had swung over to the Cracroft Island side and were seen by the Wardens slowly heading west off Boat Bay just before 8am. This group, probably sleeping, is reported to be not really moving and is now pointing east into the ebbing tide off Swaine Point. AND, finally for now, the A30s may be also pointing east off the western end of Blackfish Sound. This brings the summary up to the current time. Hats off to the OL crew for keeping up with the whales during the night. Did I mention that there was humpbacks vocalizing in Blackfish Sound through the night as well?

Sounds like the A5s are going east, now on Rubbing beach. Possibly the I15s/G27s are not too far away from them. We haven't heard the A30s for a while, they were going east in the strait when we heard them last. We are also hearing Humpback singing on Flower Island Hydrophone.
