| No calls but orcas nearby So here is what has been happening from our perspective - last night we listened to the A30s and the A5s toggle between Robson Bight and the far end of the Reserve. Their calls faded around 1am. This morning we heard calls just before 5am. Then we heard two fairly large groups travel south through Blackney Pass. CP reported their blows at 5:19am and 40 minutes later Boat Bay saw a large group head east past them in the misty fog. All this time we were hearing A5 calls off the eastern end of the Reserve. Lots of whales, not a whole lot to go on. Added to this Kirsty heard 3 blows head north in Blackney Pass about an hour ago. Helena 11 Aug 2012 07:51:37 PDT |
