Distant calls audible.
The A30s are trying to make their way through Blackney Pass again after circling around Hanson Island from Johnstone Strait. This time they are quite spread out and moving slowly. Of course it is getting quite dark now and so the pass is a very different experience from last evening. Still it is great to know where they are.

The A30s continued west and thanks to Jeff on the Lukwa we know that they went through Weynton Pass to Blackfish Sound where we are now hearing their calls.

The A30's came into the Rubbing Beach and had a rub. They are now heading west in the strait on the Vancouver Island shore line. A few distant calls can be heard now.

No calls but orcas nearby
Reports coming in this morning from a kayak group that the A30's have been heading west between Naka Creek and the Rubbing Beaches. Wayne on the Lukwa has just reported them angling towards the rubbing beaches from the Cracroft Island shore line at the east end of the reserve. No calls yet.

No orcas present.
Gorgeous morning here. We believe the A30s continued east - at least we lost track of them when they exited the Reserve around 2am. That was followed by some incredible humpback sounds in Blackney Pass. Not much sleep going on here! But no worries as Marie would say. There are several humpback in windy Blackney Pass this morning! We also received a report from Pacific Wild of 40+ orcas heading south yesterday evening. Whew, hang on to your hats, and fingers crossed.

What a night! We are hearing hump back whales! Sounds like the whale is in Blackney Pass. He or she stopped singing when a boat entered Blackney Pass. Probably the A30s kept going to the east from the reserve.

The A30s are at east end of the Reserve now. Sorry for the background noise, it's not your computer. You are picking up static from the hydrophone.

Orcas hunting fish.
Sounds like the A30s are close to Robson Bight. We are hearing some Pacific white-sided dolphins too. They were in Blackney Pass earlier. Now they are near CP.
