No calls but orcas nearby

Good evening! The A23s/A25s and the A73s made it back to Johnstone Strait this afternoon, coming back from the west. They seem to be headed down the Strait. It was so interesting as they were quiet during their travels until fairly recently. Their calls have since dropped off again.

No orcas present.

I love daytime and the clarity it sometimes offers. I stayed with the recording until 3am and then had to go to bed but the story was far from complete. As the first group (and we think it was the A25s) came through Blackney Pass to Blackfish Sound and faded off into the distance around 3am, a second group (possibly the A23s and the A4 group) suddenly were present off Cracroft Point. We believe this grouping continued west in Johnstone Strait, rounded Hanson Island, passed through Weynton Passage and headed to Donegal Head by approximately 7am approxim. A group of 10 - 12 were seen around then heading into Queen Charlotte Strait. So now we are in a pause and after yesterday's excitement taking the moment to get everyone oriented and organized.
