No orcas present.

We've had an amazing encounter with the orcas on our Rubbing beach cameras! If you head to www.explore.org and rewind on our Rubbing beach surface and underwater cameras - you'll be able to see the footage! http://explore.org/live-cams/player/orcalab-rubbing-beach http://explore.org/live-cams/player/orcalab-rubbing-beach-underwater

Distant calls audible.

The whales headed east from Cracroft Point earlier. We think they are still going east but difficult to find them in this misty weather.

Multiple pod calls audible.

There are a lot of pods in Johnstone Strait! The A5s are the most vocal, but the A30s, I15s, and some of the I31s are also around.

Distant calls audible.

The whales kept going east in Johnstone Strait. Now they're near the entrance of Blackney Pass. We could see them in distance on Cracroft Point camera. http://explore.org/live-cams/player/orcalab-cracroft-point-surface

Distant calls audible.

The whales entered Johnstone Strait via Weynton Passage. We are hearing distant calls. Also we got a report that 5 Bigg's orcas were heading west from Sophia Islands at 12:48pm.

Distant calls audible.

We started hearing at least G clan and A5 calls. They are in Blackfish Sound.

Multiple pod calls audible.

It seems as if the groups have been sorting themselves out while in Blackfish Sound. They have been very vocal and a few even slipped into Blackney Pass for a while but not for long, for now. The A5s,I15s and A30s are all back in Blackfish Sound, at times, quite distant, at others a little clearer. We have not heard the I35s for a while.

A clan calls. The whales are moving east and could be coming to Blackney Pass.
