Distant calls audible.

We are listening to the A30s in Blackfish Sound now. The I15s are silent right now in the Strait.

Boat noise

The I15s seemed to have made it back in the Strait but still not many calls. We believe they re-entered via Weynton Pass. Waiting now to see if they will continue eastward- the tide will soon be in their favour. Also very heavy boat noise from the transiting tugs.

There was a report that the whales turned to the west around Robson Point at 5pm.

Very silently the I15s (the I4s and I65s) along with the A30s are still east bound toward the Bight. Slow progress. We are watching on http://explore.org/live-cams/player/orcalab-robson-bight

No calls but orcas nearby

The whales are now off Cracroft Point. Pointing west. We're following them on Cracroft Point cam. There was a beautiful scene about 45 mins ago. Watch it on explore. http://explore.org/live-cams/player/orcalab-cracroft-point-surface

Multiple pod calls audible.

On this beautiful blustery day we have the treat of the the A30s back in "town" accompanying part of the I15s - has our season finally begun? They came in via Weynton Pass and are now making their way towards Cracroft Point.

No orcas present.

No orcas but Humpback whales! At least Ridge, Squiggle and Ripple were in Blackney Pass yesterday.
