Distant calls audible.

The A36s have passed Critical Point and the Bight as they continued eastward through the Ecological Reserve.

Wonderful echo location from the boys as they grab a bite to eat in the Bight!

Right now we think the A36s are not far from the entrance to Blackney Pass.

Orcas near mics.

The A36s have been having a Johnstone Strait kind of day, back and forth, calling every so often, foraging. We had three humpbacks, including Galaxy today in Blackney Pass.

Performing maintenance

We are stopping streaming for a short while, so we can test a network camera. We will be back soon. Meanwhile, The A36s are off the entrance to Blackney Pass and are calling occasionally. There is also increasing boat noise just now!

No calls but orcas nearby

The A36s are their way back to the west. At 9:49am the Wardens saw the boys off Boat Bay, close to the Cracroft shore, heading west.

Superb sounds!!

After some continuous echolocation close to Critical Point, the A36s opened up with two loud & lovely calls close to the hydrophone. There was boat noise in the background, but it didn't diminish the sudden thrill of hearing them.

Orcas hunting fish.

The A36s have been closing in on Robson bight for the last hour and a half. Hopfully, they are getting a good bite to eat.
