Superb sounds!!
So very quickly under an unbelievably starry sky the A24s,A25s and A23s passed through Blackney to Blackfish Sound.

it took a while tis morning but the A25s,A24s and A23s were finally located at 10:30am near Windy Point. They were east bound. There has been an unconfirmed report of orcas near the Mainland side in the Wells Pass area. Vague but exciting. The tide will be in flood around 4:30pm.

The A23,A24s and the A25s have been coming west for quite a while this afternoon. The Lukwa reports that they are stalled off Naka Creek in the midst of thousands of finning and jumping sockey that are passing through the area. It is quite the sight!

We need to clear something up. Jan you are correct - there it was in our chats with CetaceaLab - mention of A51's new baby seen in April of this year! Nice to get the record straight.

Hmmmm. difficult to track whales if they are silent. They had been heading to the Sophia Island east of Cracroft Point against the tide in Johnstone Strait. Their calls were never close and so far we have not heard them cross the entrance of Blackney. Did they turn or keep going? hopefully, we will soon know more.

The whales finally made it back around to Johnstone Strait via Weynton Pass. Nice to think they didn't want to leave the area just yet. We are hearing A4 calls so far.
