Superb sounds!!

We're listening to some nice calls on Critical Point right now! Hopefully they'll stick around for awhile

No calls but orcas nearby

Today, Corky's family were seen in Johnstone Strait!. Roger McDonell saw them first heading west along the Hanson Island shore. Jackie Hildering out to survey the humpbacks found them off Telegraph Cove with the help of Jim Borrowman before 3pm. They had been socializing and turned east. You can see pictures on Jackie Hildering's FB page. Jackie found the humpbacks Quartz and Ripple in Blackney Pass and the Lab also added Guardian, who they had seen earlier, to the list. Quite the day especially with the recent Sea World buzz. The A23s and A25s were silent as far as we could tell.

No orcas present.

Its a quiet morning here at the lab but we've seen some humpbacks lunge feeding and the sea lions are still hauled out down the way!
