Distant calls audible.
The A8s are on their way back from the east. The A11s are most likely not too far away from them as well, although, we have not heard them yet. We lost track of the A36s and A12 when they were still not far from the Ecological Reserve around 6pm. At that time they were west bound again after some shuffling back and forth.

Orcas near mics.
The whales are fairly close to Vancouver Island and they have moved further west so despite the constant boat noise the calls are quite clear. I forgot to mention that we first started to hear calls just after 3am.

No orcas present.
We lost track of the whales around 6am. The A36s/A12 may have joined up with the A8s and A11s just before this and perhaps returned eastward. It is a very foggy morning and all has been quiet for the last few hours.

No orcas present.
A recent report of a sighting of orcas near Eve River, heading east in a resting line, suggests that at least some of the A11s, A8s, A36s with A12, are heading back to the east in Johnstone Strait.

No orcas present.
We are very much left in between this morning. A large group of orcas was reported off Pine Is. (Queen Charlotte Strait) this morning. Originally, they were reported eastbound but a later update from the Naiad Explorer corrected this to west bound from the eastern end of Gordon Channel. No firm ids yet. AND, the A8s,A11s, A73 and A12 and the A36s are east bound at Hickey Point (lower Johnstone Strait).
