No calls but orcas nearby
Well! The A30s (at least part) and the A25s made it to Blackney Pass just before dark. We were able to follow them past White Beach Pass before they turned back to the north. Once they had decided to turn they moved quickly (breaching as well) toward Blackfish Sound. The light became impossible and they became silent. Very disappointing to see several whale watch boats out amongst the whales so late at night - they had to put their running lights on. Don't believe we have ever witness such an effort before. Just when do the whales get to live their lives without disturbance?

Distant calls audible.
After an afternoon retreat back to the west in Queen Charlotte Strait the A30s and possibly the A25s are now making their way into Blackfish Sound. Lovely evening here.http://explore.org/live-cams/player/orcalab-base

The A30s have made it back to the area. We first heard calls at 5:30am as they approached Blackfish Sound. This morning they have remained in the area near Donegal Head/Bold Head foraging as they mill about. The tide is still ebbing. We have heard only A30 calls so far but wonder if the A25s are still with them as before.
