No calls but orcas nearby

It turned out that the second wave of orcas heading south through Blackney Pass were the T55s. Christie McMillan on the Merlin provided the IDs. We believe the Gs went east.

Distant calls audible.

After taking forever to negotiate their way comfortably through Blackney Pass the Gs finally made it to Johnstone Strait at 5pm. They have stalled off the entrance way.

Superb sounds!!

Lovely calls from the G16s, G22s and G31s as they try to make their way south through Blackney Pass. Humpbacks vying for our attention by breaching and tail lobbing. The orcas are very spread out. Tide is ebbing until 2:30pm. explore.org

No orcas present.

A clear morning here at OrcaLab. Yesterday we saw humpback whales Merge, Domino, Moonstar, Conger, and of course Guardian. We had some Pacific Whitesided dolphin calls last night and a few humpback calls as well. http://explore.org/live-cams/player/orcalab-base
