Superb sounds!!

We are hearing the I15s (not sure if I35s are still with them), A5s (A42s at least) on CRPT hydrophone. They are in the Bight now. Earlier, the I15s / I35s and A42s went as far as western part of Johnestone Strait last night. Then they turned east passed CP around 0040 - 0210am. We are also hearing some A1 calls with them, might be part of the A30s who haven't gone far away to the east.

Distant calls audible.

The whales moved west this morning. Their night went something like this. After they headed north through Blackney Pass we believe the A34s kept going and the A42s and A52s headed into Queen Charlotte Strait. The I15s and the I35s also went "out" after travelling back west (and a brief trip into Telegraph Cove) and out Weynton Pass sometime after 9pm. The A30s took their clue from that movement to shift south through Blackney Pass just before 10pm. The I15s, A42s & I35s remained in Blackfish Sound vocalizing until they too moved house into Blackney Pass and travelled back to Johnstone Strait. They were off he entrance to Blackney Pass by 3am and soon after travelling eastward. The A30s were still ahead of them and off the Main rubbing beach by 5:12am. An A5 group joined them just before 6am. By 7:30am it became evident that the whales were heading back to the west. They continued to move west for the rest of the morning. The A30s were last group up and stayed off CP and Hanson Island while the A42s, I15s went further and closer to Telegraph Cove.
