Some dolphins continued vocalized and chatted for a few hours overnight beginning around 11:30pm. Pretty quiet now on this rainy morning..outside of the boat noise that is.

A large group of Southern Residents orcas, including many from L pod and at least one member of K pod, traveled east through Johnstone Strait yesterday afternoon, and were southbound past Campbell River at 10:30am today. Thanks to James Wilson for the initial report, Jared & Christie for the detail, and Hurricane Jack & Roger McDonell for today's reports.

Outside of this terrible boat noise at the moment, the dolphins have still been chatting away in JS. The Lukwa reported 200+ dolphins in the area earlier today.

Not long after s/he was spotted heading north with Arial (a sibling). Thanks to Christie and Jackie of MERS for their identification confirmation!

It seems as though we have a week radio connection for the internet today, so you may experience intermittent audio. We're working on it though. :)

Thanks to Christie we now have a functioning router again!!! However, I am unable to get the audio streaming so the investigation continues. There has been nothing to report acoustically, but Nick & Stripe spent most of the day in Blackney Pass yesterday. There were also ~ 20 dolphins in the Pass who took to leaping all about the two HB's yesterday evening. Nick & Stripe stayed close by each others side during the episode as they continuously trumpeted.

Christie reported the T36s & T99s hunting seals at Pearse Islands this morning. Unfortunately, they're not within hearing range of our network at the moment.
