Just like this morning, some of the A30s came into Blackney Pass, stopped opposite us, and then made their way back to Blackfish Sound, where we're hearing them on the Flower Island hydrophone. They seem closer now and we just got word that they are in Blackney Pass again headed south! Most of the A30s stayed in Blackfish Sound while three of their members came into Blackney Pass. They got to about half way and then turned back towards the north and proceeded into Blackfish Sound. From the radio reports it sounds like the A30s are all now moving west in Blackfish. They have been vocal. Helena 03 Jul 2017 22:38:36 PDT No calls but orcas nearby The A30s graced us with another visit as they travelled north through Blackney in the soft evening light. It now seems quite apparent and Jared Towers was able to confirm that A50 has had another baby. Last year we were convinced she was pregnant after watching her on the underwater camera at the rubbing beaches and later learned that Lance baratt-Lennard had come to the same conclusion with his drone work. The baby is very energetic! Earlier in the evening, After travelling east through the Ecological Reserve the A30s had turned around and had come back to Cracroft Point. We got ready in anticipation they would come through Blackney which as reported they did. So wonderful to see them again. A84 is looking very big now! Helena 03 Jul 2017 22:24:57 PDT Superb sounds!!
